Ghana will host the CAF African Schools Football Championship 2025 Continental Finals from April 21 to April 26 at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra.

This will be the first time the final stage of the competition is held in West Africa, following previous editions in South Africa (2023) and Tanzania (2024).

The tournament, introduced by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe in 2022, has quickly become Africa’s largest youth football competition, with over 1.9 million young players from 46 nations participating.

A total of 12 teams—six boys’ and six girls’ teams—have qualified through zonal tournaments. Ghana will compete as the host nation, alongside teams from Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa, DR Congo, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, and more.

The competition offers a total prize fund of $10 million, donated by the Motsepe Foundation, to support school development projects. The winners will receive $300,000, while the second and third-place teams will get $200,000 and $150,000 respectively.

CAF has also introduced training programs for young players, coaches, referees, and medical officers to **develop football from the grassroots level.

The matches will be played at the University of Ghana Stadium, a 10,000-seater venue built for the 2023 African Games.
