NPP refers Owusu Bempah to disciplinary committee over social media comments

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced disciplinary action against its Deputy Director of Communications, Ernest Owusu Bempah, for allegedly making social media comments that could sow disaffection within the party.

In a press release dated April 22, 2025, and signed by General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party indicated that Mr. Bempah’s conduct violates internal directives instructing all members to refrain from public discussions that may cause internal disunity.

The release references earlier communication (NPP/HO/PR/2025/03/DAM) as the basis for this disciplinary measure. According to the party, Mr. Bempah’s recent comments on social media contravene these guidelines and have necessitated his referral to the National Disciplinary Committee for further action.

This move signals the party’s increasing emphasis on internal cohesion ahead of upcoming political events, with party leadership reiterating the importance of discipline and unity among its ranks.
