“I am happy about today’s victory. I believe this is the time to change the phase of the GOC, and we must do that now,” he said.

He further emphasized his commitment to helping guide and oversee GOC’s activities, ensuring the Committee remains true to its mission and operate responsibly.

In a message to the delegates and the broader sporting community, Mr. Amankwah added:

“I am deeply honored and grateful for the confidence you have placed in me by electing me as one of the Board Members of the Ghana Olympic Committee.
This victory is not mine alone, it is ours. I pledge to work with the rest of the Board with dedication, integrity, and passion to advance the vision of the GOC and to serve the interests of all stakeholders in Ghana’s sporting fraternity.
Thank you once again for believing in me. I look forward to working closely with each of you as we build a stronger and brighter future for sports in Ghana.”

Mr. Amankwah was elected alongside two other new members — Ms. Rafatu Inusah, President of Ghana Rugby, and Mr. Nathaniel Johnson — who will all play key roles in driving the GOC’s mission forward.
