Referees and match commissioners in Ghana have announced a boycott of all remaining Ghana Premier League matches due to unpaid allowances for 21 weeks.
In a letter sighted by Happy Sports, the group, Concerned Referees and Match Commissioners of Ghana (CRAMCOG) stated that they will not officiate any more games until their outstanding payments are settled.
The letter, addressed to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), warned that the delay in payments could compromise the integrity of the league, as financial struggles may expose referees to potential corruption.
The boycott threatens to disrupt the ongoing Premier League season, with key matches at risk of postponement. The GFA is yet to respond to the referees’ demands.
