Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo welcomed the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to his Nima residence on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in a meeting that reaffirmed the long-standing relationship between the former president and the Ashanti Kingdom.

The Asantehene, accompanied by a distinguished delegation of chiefs and noblemen, engaged in cordial discussions with Akufo-Addo, reflecting on their past collaborations and the enduring role of traditional authority in Ghana’s governance and development.

During the meeting, Akufo-Addo expressed his deep respect for Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, acknowledging his wisdom and leadership, particularly in mediating national issues and fostering peace.

The former president highlighted the significant role the Asantehene played in Ghana’s democratic journey, praising his efforts in preserving cultural heritage and national unity.

“The Otumfuo and I have charted a trajectory of longstanding ties of friendship and cooperation from our formative periods, and such ties have grown even more stronger with the passage of time. As always, I wish him and Asanteman well in all endeavours”.
