Israel’s Attack on Iran Is a Strategy Rooted in Deterrence – Diplomatic Observer Reveals

The ongoing military conflict between Israel and Iran has been described as a calculated deterrence strategy aimed at countering regional threats, according to International Diplomatic Observer, Adam Zig Na Abudullai.

Speaking on the Happy Morning Show with Sefah-Danquah on Happy 98.9FM, Mr. Abudullai emphasized that Israel’s airstrikes on Iran, launched under “Operation Rising Lion” on June 13, are meant to send a strong message to other insurgent and proxy groups opposing the Israeli bloc.

“These attacks are not random acts of aggression—they’re a show of strength meant to deter Iran and any groups it sponsors, like Hamas, from escalating tensions further,” he explained.

Global Support for Israel’s Response

The observer noted that Iran, widely regarded by the West as a violator of international nuclear protocols, poses a serious risk to global security. He referenced repeated warnings from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regarding Iran’s alleged misuse of nuclear technologies and production of weapons of mass destruction.

Global leaders sought a resolution against the proliferation of such weapons, and it was passed by the IAEA,” Abudullai said. “That’s why many international powers are backing Israel’s military response as legitimate.”

He described Israel’s campaign as not only defensive but also preemptive, aimed at neutralizing threats from Iran and its regional proxies.

Operation Rising Lion and Escalating Conflict

Israel’s surprise strikes on June 13 targeted Iranian nuclear sites, military facilities, and key officials, prompting a fierce response from Tehran. Iran retaliated later that day by launching over 150 ballistic missiles and more than 100 drones toward Israeli territory.

Since then, the two nations have engaged in continuous military exchanges, marking the fifth consecutive day of open warfare as of June 17.

Mr. Abudullai cautioned that while the West may view Israel’s actions as a containment effort, the ripple effects of the conflict are being felt globally.

This conflict is affecting all of us economically, politically, and diplomatically but it’s part of a larger Western strategy to curtail Iran’s influence in the region,” he said.
