A police officer and two civilians have been brought before the Berekum Circuit Court over an alleged armed robbery in the Bono Region.
The accused, 26-year-old Lance Corporal Owusu Asante, stationed at Techiman Tanoso, is said to have conspired with two civilians, Wilson Osei Danquah, a boutique operator from Kumasi, and Muftawu Salusu, a fuel station attendant to carry out the crime.
According to the prosecution, led by Chief Inspector John Kwakye Brobbey, the trio allegedly stormed the residence of one Ajara Kramo in Amangoase, a suburb of Berekum, on June 15.
Ms. Kramo is reportedly under suspicion for involvement in narcotics activities.
The suspects are accused of threatening her with a fake pistol and making off with an undisclosed sum of money.
In addition to robbery and conspiracy charges, the three also face accusations of unlawfully possessing illicit drugs.
The court has ordered their remand in police custody to assist ongoing investigations.
The case is scheduled to resume on July 2, 2025.
