The upcoming 2nd World Shea Expo 2025, scheduled for Tamale, will shine a spotlight on Ghana’s efforts to spur rural industrialisation through agribusiness, says Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor, Director of the Presidential Initiatives on Agriculture and Agribusiness.
He emphasized that the event is more than an industry showcase and it’s a statement of intent. “The Expo reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to transforming rural economies through value addition, job creation, and sustainable development,” Dr. Otokunor noted.
The Expo will bring together stakeholders from across the globe to explore investment opportunities in the shea sector, a vital industry poised to play a larger role in Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy initiative. Special attention will be given to empowering rural women, who drive shea production across Northern Ghana.
With Ghana seeking a stronger foothold in the $2.75 billion global shea industry, the Expo is set to be a turning point for inclusive growth and industrial advancement.
