The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has presided over a significant ceremony at the National Police Headquarters in Accra to decorate 19 senior police officers who have earned new ranks within the Ghana Police Service.

The officers, promoted from Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) to Commissioner of Police (COP), and from Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) to DCOP, were recognized for their dedication, professionalism, and years of service.

Congratulating the newly promoted officers, Mr. Mohammed-Mubarak commended them for their commitment in the face of growing security demands. He stressed that the promotions were not only a mark of individual achievement but a reflection of the high expectations placed on the Ghana Police Service.

“The President extends his heartfelt appreciation to you for your sacrifices and hard work. Let these promotions motivate you and others in the service to give off your best,” the Minister said.

He further urged the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to address delays in promotions across the Service and ensure that deserving personnel are duly recognized and rewarded.

The Inspector-General of Police, COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, in his address, described the promotions as a morale booster for both the individuals and the Service at large. He also expressed gratitude to the President and the Interior Minister for their continued support.

“The presence of the Minister today highlights the President’s genuine concern and appreciation for the hard work of our officers, many of whom operate under very challenging conditions,” COP Yohuno stated.
