Former Government Spokesperson Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah has called on the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to shift its focus from Deputy Health Minister Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah and instead investigate religious institutions and individuals using unaccredited academic titles.
According to him, there are soo many Man of God using unaccredited titles.
“GTEC should leave the Deputy Minister alone. “There are people who are using titles that they must pursue… some people hold themselves with certain titles.”
He argued that theological institutions operating without proper accreditation continue to issue certificates and confer titles such as “Reverend” and “Rev. Dr.” without oversight.
“I entreat GTEC to turn their attention to religious bodies… that will be able to sanitise the system,” he added.
His comments follow GTEC’s challenge of Dr. Ayensu-Danquah’s claim to the title of professor. The Commission demanded proof of her appointment, which her legal team insists was conferred by the University of Utah and falls outside GTEC’s jurisdiction.
