Officials from Washington have revealed that nearly 200,000 people were deported in the seven months following Trump’s return to office in 2025.
The toll is described by news sources as a new record in U.S deportation exercises especially under the Trump administration.
Other immigrants are presently facing processing in jails and facilities operated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Figures from mid-August showed just over 59,000 in ICE detention.
As numbers of people detained increase, so do the protests, with many US cities staging rallies against the immigration sweep.
