A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, popularly known as Koka, has thrown his full support behind former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as the best candidate to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.

Speaking in an interview with Happyghana.com during the NPP’s balloting exercise for its presidential aspirants ahead of the January 31, 2026 primaries at the party’s headquarters in Accra, Koka stressed that Dr. Bawumia possesses the right qualities, experience, and track record to move the party forward.

According to him, Dr. Bawumia’s performance as Vice President under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration has demonstrated his competence and commitment to national development.

“The NPP needs a candidate with integrity, intelligence, and a proven record of service. Dr. Bawumia has shown exceptional leadership and dedication to the party and the nation. He is the best person to lead us in 2028,” Koka asserted.

He further expressed confidence that Dr. Bawumia would secure a resounding victory in the party’s upcoming presidential primaries, predicting that he could win with between 85% and 90% of the votes.

Koka also downplayed the chances of other aspirants, insisting that none of the remaining four candidates have the political weight and popularity to lead the NPP to victory in 2028.

“When you look at the field of aspirants, it’s clear that no one matches Dr. Bawumia’s experience and appeal. He’s the only candidate who can unite the party and win the 2028 elections,” he added.
