One person has been burnt to death and another arrested after allegedly stealing goats and sheep at Esaso in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region.
According to reports, the suspects, who were travelling in a commercial bus, were accused of stealing six goats and six sheep from residents.
Their actions drew the attention of locals, who mounted a hot chase that extended through nearby communities.
The pursuit ended at Marban, where the suspects were confronted by an angry mob. One of them was captured and lynched before being set ablaze along with the vehicle they were travelling in.
The other suspect managed to escape but was later arrested by the police. He is currently in custody assisting with investigations.
Police have since retrieved the stolen animals and commenced investigations into the incident.
