The Accra High Court has issued a bench warrant for the immediate arrest of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Wontumi.
The order, made on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, follows Wontumi’s failure to appear in court for his ongoing criminal trial without prior notice or a valid explanation. The presiding judge described his absence as unacceptable and directed law enforcement to ensure his prompt arrest and appearance before the court.
