The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee has formally charged Hearts of Oak and defender Hussein Mohammed after Sunday’s heated Super Clash against Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Hearts of Oak are accused of failing to control their supporters, who confronted match officials over a first-half penalty awarded to Kotoko and a late offside call that ruled out what could have been Mawuli Wayo’s equaliser.

Tensions flared as fans hurled objects onto the pitch, forcing security personnel to intervene to restore calm.

The club has been cited for breaching Articles 16(2)(b) and 34(6)(d) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, as well as the 2025 Premier League Regulations.

Defender Hussein Mohammed faces a separate charge of misconduct after reportedly confronting referee Reginald Collins Amoah at the final whistle.

He was quickly restrained by police, but the GFA considers the act a serious violation under Articles 12(1)(k) and 34(6)(d), which prohibit threatening or attempting to assault match officials.

Both Hearts of Oak and Hussein Mohammed have until Tuesday, November 11, 2025, to respond to the charges.
