The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has commissioned two smart classroom projects aimed at enhancing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education in the constituency.

The projects were inaugurated on Friday, December 26, 2025, as part of efforts to improve digital learning and equip students with 21st-century skills.

The initiative covers two senior high schools in the area, Battor Senior High/Technical School (BASEC) and Adidome Senior High School (ABAST).

Speaking after the commissioning, Mr Ablakwa expressed gratitude to the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Tong Defa, for what he described as an impactful partnership in advancing education in North Tongu.

According to the MP, the smart classrooms are fully equipped with modern digital learning tools, including high-speed internet connectivity, smart boards, tablets, solar panels, and relevant educational content designed to support STEM instruction.

He explained that the project was implemented through a partnership arrangement, under which the Chinese partners provided the STEM equipment and solar power systems, while he facilitated the construction and related infrastructure.

Mr Ablakwa noted that the initiative forms part of his broader commitment to improving educational outcomes and expanding access to technology-driven learning in the constituency.

He reaffirmed his dedication to working with both local and international partners to create opportunities for students in North Tongu, particularly in areas that will prepare them for future careers in science and technology.
