A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Boakye Agyarko, has officially commenced a nationwide tour as part of his campaign for the position of National Chairman, urging party members to prioritise unity, discipline and renewal.

In a message to supporters to mark the start of the tour on February 24, 2026, Mr. Agyarko described the exercise as “a journey of hope, unity, renewal and strengthening the tradition” of the party.

According to him, the campaign is not centred on any single individual but on the shared values and collective future of the NPP.

He emphasised the need for broad consultations with delegates and grassroots members on strategies to rebuild and rebrand the party in order to regain the confidence of Ghanaians.

“The campaign is about brainstorming together with you on how to rebuild and rebrand our Party to recapture the minds and hearts of Ghanaians,” he stated.

Mr. Agyarko made a passionate appeal to party faithful to conduct themselves with dignity throughout the internal contest.

He called for respectful engagement among members, urging them to demonstrate maturity in both language and actions.

He stressed that the contest for national leadership must strengthen the party rather than create divisions, reminding members that they belong to one political family. Differences in preferences, he noted, should not degenerate into personal attacks.

“Our message must be one of ideas, solutions, competence and vision,” he said, adding that discipline has always been a defining strength of the party’s tradition and must be upheld firmly.

The aspiring National Chairman called on delegates, constituency executives, regional executives, polling station executives and grassroots members to rally behind what he described as a journey of hope.
