The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department has assured affected education and health workers that payment of salary arrears dating back to August 2024 has commenced and will be completed according to an approved schedule.
In a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, Cephas N. Dosoo, the Department explained that the payments will be spread over four months, with each tranche covering four months of arrears.
According to the payment plan, beneficiaries are expected to receive:
* May 2026 – Four months’ arrears
* June 2026 – Four months’ arrears
* July 2026 – Four months’ arrears
* August 2026 – Four months’ arrears
The Department further stated that the first tranche of payments is expected to be fully completed by Friday, May 29, 2026.
CAGD added that subsequent payments will continue strictly in line with the approved schedule until all outstanding arrears have been cleared.
The Department also expressed appreciation to affected workers for their patience and cooperation throughout the process.
