I want DNA test to be done at Police Hospital not private laboratory – Gifty Gyan

There is drama in court over the DNA Test request by Baffour Gyan on his brother’s behalf as the wife of Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan, Gifty Gyan is reportedly calling for the DNA Test to be conducted at the Police Hospital under the supervision of officials from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) instead of the private hospital Baffour Gyan and others have proposed.

Currently, Gifty Gyan’s 2002 marriage of convenience for a UK Visa is the subject of a raging court battle between she and her husband of 5 years and fiancée of 11 years. Her husband is praying the marriage court to wipe the marriage off the record (annulment).

According to a source to close the family, although Gifty Gyan is afraid of what lies ahead for her kids, she is 100% sure all her three (3) have one father, and it is no other person than Asamoah Gyan, the same man she met in 2002 and married in 2013.

“I don’t think she is afraid of the results. I escorted her to the airport when she was going back. She was just very down but on the DNA she seemed to be very sure of herself. She said she feels down because she is hurt by many things.” the family source said.

Asked why she (through her lawyers) is reportedly making a new request for Police hospital, CID supervised DNA testing, the family source rubbished claims of fear on her part.

“It doesn’t mean she is afraid of the results. You know, she fears something can happen somewhere for the results to be tampered with if it is not done under strict supervision of trusted people like the government or someone who cannot be bribed or something like that… ?” he explained.

Asked whether Gifty Gyan’s family and the Gyan family have made attempts to solve the issues in the marriage, Happyghana.com was informed all attempts to have a sitting has failed as one side fails to turn up. It was not stated which side.

Asamoah Gyan has also reportedly refused to talk to Gifty or the three children since August when he filed for annulment in court.

Already, it has been revealed that Asamoah Gyan only saw his children 2 or 3 times every year, when he visited them to take pictures to post on his social media or on their birthdays which he seldom made time for.

He also visited his children and wife with a huge entourage everytime, making it impossible for the nuclear family to have quality time together which also contributed to the strain between the couple.

Happyghana.com earlier confirmed from sources very close to the wife of Asamoah Gyan that although she is unhappy about what a DNA controversy will become an insult for her kids, she fully welcomes the decision because it will vindicate her.

Gifty Gyan met Asamoah Gyan in 2002 and married him in 2013 after they had dated for 11 years. She got pregnant in 2005 and gave birth to the player’s firstborn Frederick Asamoah Gyan.

So far, the DNA test which was supposed to take place on the 19th November, 2018 has been rescheduled on the request of Baffour Gyan, acting on the authority of his brother Asamoah Gyan.

They prayed the Court hearing the case of annulment of marriage between Asamoah and Gifty to postpone the date of the DNA Test because Asamoah Gyan had a “national assignment” for the Black Stars of Ghana against Ethiopia which will make him unavailable for the Test as the father.

A new DNA date is set to be fixed by the court as the Ghana-Ethiopia match ended with Gyan watching the match from the bench as his “national assignment”.
