WAEC to release 2025 BECE private candidate results today The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that results for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for private candidates will be released by the end of today, Friday, September 5. Speaking at a media briefing, WAEC’s Public Relations Officer, John Kapi, confirmed the release timeline and shared key statistics. “A total of 1,661 private candidates, 858 males and 803 females, registered for this year’s BECE. This marks a 19.49% increase compared to last year,” he stated. According to John Kapi, the provisional results for school candidates were released earlier on August 23, with 603,328 students participating from 20,395 schools. Nana Poku Kwarteng, father of the late Ebony Reigns, has revealed that the decision to put out the list of artistes who performed at the ‘Ebony tribute concert’ which took place a year ago was not to tarnish the image of her daughter’s former manager, Ricky Nana Agyemang popularly known as Bullet.

According to Mr Kwarteng, who is popularly known as ‘Starboy Kwarteng’, he was surprised when Bullet started calling him greedy.

In an interview with DJ Advicer on Happy FM’s ‘Ayekoo After Drive’ show Starboy Kwarteng said, “I didn’t intentionally bring out the list. I went for an interview and they asked me about the profit I made from the Ebony Tribute Concert. I told them I received GHS 2,000 but they were shocked so I decided to show them the list Bullet and a guy he said was his direct assistant gave me. I was shocked when Bullet came out to say I was being greedy.”

“I believe by now people believe I am not greedy. He gave me that list and I kept it. I spoke with some of the artistes that he mentioned on the list and they said they never took a dime. I thought the list was true. Before Nana Hemaa died, I had already built my house and achieved a lot. I have a bond with Nana Hemaa. In our family, we all like ourselves and my daughter was just like me,” he added.

Starboy Kwarteng is currently promoting a new single from the late Ebony dubbed ‘ Be your driver’.
