On this day 7 February 1970 (Exactly 49 years ago) Ghana’s Black Stars began their African Cup of Nations campaign with 2-0 victory over Congo-Kinshasha (now Congo DR) at the Municipal Stadium in Wad Madani, Sudan.

Goals Scored : [Kwasi Owusu 29′ 32′]

Ghana Line-up : Robert Mensah, Edward Boye, Alex Mingle, John Eshun, Oliver Acquah, Joe Ghartey, Ibrahim Sunday, Robert Foley, Cecil Jones Attuquayefio, Kwasi Owusu, Malik Jabir.

On this day 7 February 2008(Exactly 11 years ago) The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon scored a 71th minute goal through Alian N’kong to end Ghana’s quest for gold in the 26th African Cup of Nations. Cameroon won the semi final clash at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra 1-0.

On this day 7 February 1989 (Exactly 30 years ago) Retired Swedish tennis great Bjorn Borg was treated at a hospital and released after taking an overdose of barbiturates in what police said was an apparent suicide attempt. Friends of Borg denied he tried to kill himself.
