Historian and researcher at the University of Ghana, Kweku Darko Ankrah, has said that is about time the Ga State stood firm to claim what belongs to them.

Speaking on the Cultural History Month radio series on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’, Mr. Ankrah asserted that “When it comes to chieftaincy matters, they are emotional issues. So when one is talking about it, you have to be careful.”

According to him, in every chieftaincy dispute they are vested interests and that is what brings the division.

“Sometimes it is very sad that a great state like the Ga State when a head of state or president from another country visit Ghana, they can’t even go to the Ga Mantse, it is appalling,” he lamented.

Mr. Ankrah opined that “It is about time the Ga State stood firm to claim what belongs to them.”

Mr. Ankrah also revealed that, one of the main reasons why the Ga State is suffering from lots of chieftaincy dispute is that, the Ga’s first started practicing theocracy state.

The Culture History Month is one of the activities on Happy FM which is commemorated in the month of March.

The Culture History Month celebrates our heritage as Ghanaians and is also used to teach us all about the different aspects of our lives as Ghanaians.
