A meeting to review the new Ghana Football Association (GFA) statutes and election regulations is billed to take place on Thursday at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Accra, following Anas’ expose on football in Ghana.

In June 2018, an investigative documentary by renowned undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas collapsed the GFA, consequently pulling the plugs on all activities and competitions including the Premier League and the FA Cup.

‘Football people’ are on the verge of taking a big step towards restoring normalcy to football in the country, with the national association’s Normalisation Committee set to hold a Meeting of Extraordinary Congress on Thursday.

Top on the agenda is a review and adoption of new GFA statutes as well as regulations on elections in relation to an imminent football association presidential election.

However, the FA has barred people caught in the Anas expose from attending its Extra-Ordinary Congress.

In a statement signed by the association’s Deputy General Secretary, Alex Asante, the GFA said the decision was pursuant to a decision of the GFA Executive Committee on June 5, 2018, which asked all persons implicated in the Anas documentary to step aside until the Ethics Committee decided on their conduct.
