A healthy nation is a productive nation’ – Kofi Adams at University of Ghana Corporate Football League

Minister of Youth and Recreation, Kofi Adams has commended the Sports and Wellness Directorate at the University of Ghana for providing the platform for the sports and corporate world to come together.

According to him the 2025 University of Ghana Corporate Football League will be a game changer because it will bring corporate Ghana together to not only compete but to prioritize fitness and that’s fulfil the recreational aspect of his ministry.

Kofi Adams made this comment while speaking at the launch of the 2025 University of Ghana Corporate Football League on Thursday, February 18, at the Legon Sports Stadium.

“This event is a good one because it will bring sports and the corporate world together because we need their contribution to be able to develop our sports and take it to the top. I commend the the Sports and Wellness Directorate at the University of Ghana and I believe that this league will set the standard for corporate sports in the country.”

“It will also be a game changer since it will bring corporate Ghana together to not only compete but to prioritizes fitness and that’s fulfil the recreational aspect of the ministry to fulfil the vision of president John Dramani Mahama.”

The Minister of Sports and Recreation also urged the organizers to not only focus on football but include the other sporting disciplines like basketball and tennis in the subsequent games.

The league is set to run for twenty weeks, from the end of February to July 2025 featuring sixteen (16) Teams from various industries.

The competition will be held under floodlights of the University of Ghana Stadium every Friday night, creating an exciting atmosphere for players and spectators alike.

Some of Ghana’s top corporate institutions participating are Stanbic Bank, National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Ghana Armed Forces Officers Sorts Club, UG Alumni Association,Lancaster Hotel, Ghana National Petroleum Authority, Forestry Commission, Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, Bui Power Authority and Union Ghana (defending champions of the UG Corporate Football Gala).
