Abedi Pele speaks on Ghana’s failure to qualify for 2025 AFCON

Former Black Stars captain, Abedi Ayew Pele has said it is unfortunate that Ghana will not be part of the 24 countries set to compete in the 2025 African Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco after failing to win a game in the qualifiers in a Group consisting Angola, Niger and coach Kwasi Appiah’s Sudan.

Abedi Pele while reacting to the disaster urged Ghana to forget about the past and put their house in order while preparing for the next competitions.

“I think time changes everything, and this, we are talking about three decades. So, whatever it is, we shouldn’t look back; we should just look forward, work hard, and achieve whatever we want to achieve.

“What it takes to be a great football team or a great football nation is to work hard and put your house in order to make sure that you get results, and that is all it takes to be a good team all over the world. Football is one of the keys to ensuring that the teams and the country are united,” Pele told Panafricafootball.

Abedi Ayew Pele was part of the Black Stars team that won Ghana’s last African Cup of Nations trophy in Libya in 1982.
