The Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Michael Kpakpo Allotey on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, begun his decongestion exercise in the principal streets of the city.
This initiative according to the Mayor forms part of a broader strategy aimed at restoring orderliness and improving sanitation in the capital city.
The decongestion exercises took place at Accra Central, Makola Market, Tema Station, Kwame Nkrumah Circle Interchange and Opare Square.
Michael Kpakpo Allotey before this exercise had warned street hawkers to start packing their wares from pavements because he will not tolerate lawlessness under his leadership.
He said the decongestion exercise will also help ease the heavy traffic in town and ensure free flow of vehicles.
