The Ghana Police Service, through the Office of the Special Operations Assistant to the Inspector-General of Police, has arrested two additional suspects in connection with the recent robbery at a jewellery shop in Adabraka.
The suspects, identified as Hamza Agerego, also known as Nene Bawku or Lambert, and Alhassan Elliasu, popularly called Arab Man, were arrested on January 7, 2026, at separate hideouts in Ashaiman.
Hamza Agerego was initially picked up and detained at the Katamanso District Police Headquarters in relation to the robbery. Further intelligence-led operations in Ashaiman subsequently led to the arrest of the second suspect, Alhassan Elliasu.
A search conducted at the suspects’ premises led to the recovery of two pump-action guns, forty-three (43) rounds of AK-47 ammunition, two hundred and thirty-nine (239) BB cartridges, four bulletproof vests, a pair of black boots, a black face mask, two cutlasses, two Samsung mobile phones, an iPhone 13, a wristwatch, and a CCTV monitor.
Both suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations, and are expected to be arraigned before court to face the law.
