Aduana Stars CEO Albert Commey s GPL favourites tag
Chief Executive Officer of Aduana Stars,  Albert Yahaya Commey has warned his players against becoming distracted by being tagged as favourites to this season’s Ghana Premier League.
The former Ghana premier league champions dispatched Bolga All Stars 4-0 in midweek to make it three out of three in the league.
A number of bookmakers have earmarked Aduana as one of the clear candidates to win this season’s title ahead of Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.
Commey, however, is not interested in predictions for the early stages and wants his side to deliver the same level of performance in the opening three games throughout the season.
“It’s about hard work, it’s about taking one match at a time. Last year the teams we played against in the opening games are not the same teams we’ve started this season with, but I’ll not underrate any team because some of the teams we have played this season are very strong, but it all depends on the field.”
“I don’t feel comfortable with this favourite tag thing making waves in the media. I’ll say our target has not changed but it’s early days yet and we’ve played only three matches. I’m not comfortable at all with this tag because it could let complacency get into the boys. “
Aduana Stars will travel to Sogakope to take on WAFA in Week four of the Ghana Premier League on Saturday.
