The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) running mate for the 2024 general elections, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh affectionately known as NAPO, has urged victims of the Adum Bluelight fire incident in Kumasi’s Central Business District to remain united as they work to rebuild their market.

During a visit to the site on Wednesday, March 2, 2024, the former Manhyia South MP expressed his sympathies and pledged his support for their recovery efforts.

The fire, which broke out in the early hours of Friday, March 21, 2025, devastated the Adum Bluelight section of the market, leaving traders counting their losses.

To assist with reconstruction, Dr. Opoku Prempeh donated GH₵50,000 and 500 bags of cement. He also announced that an additional GH₵100,000 would be allocated from the Manhyia South MP’s Common Fund to further support the rebuilding process.

He emphasized the importance of unity, urging them to avoid divisions that could slow down the recovery efforts.
