Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac, says his side is prepared for battle ahead of their opening game against Morocco in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) which comes off today.

The two African giants face off in the Group C opener at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjio at 4pm before the other group game between Gabon and Comoros.
The Black Stars were thrashed by African champions Algeria in their last preparatory game on Wednesday, with many fans doubting the chances of the senior national team to win this year’s tournament.

Coach Milovan Rajeavac is confident his team can start well in the tournament irrespective of the result in the Algeria game.

“Ghana takes on Morocco in their first opening game of the tournament. We have prepared very well. We know the Morocco team very well and we are very positive.

We have a good group of players and we are all doing our best so I am expecting a tough match an excellent match and I hope people will enjoy. For it is important for us to finish the match the way we want.”

The Serbian trainer also revealed that there are currently no injuries or COVID-19 positive cases recorded in camp.

“Yeah Covid19 is a serious issue these days and I have seen some teams have problems and these can affect the teams very much in this competition.

For us we did our PCR test yesterday and everybody is okay. We hope it stays that way. We don’t have any serious injury in camp. The competition starts today for us and everybody is ready. The players are ready to go. We have the quality, the passion, the dedication. We know how it important for Ghanaians. For us every next match is important and we are thinking of making the next stage.” he added.
