The Minority Leader of Parliament and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has donated laptop computers to the Winneba Divisional Police Headquarters to enhance the operational efficiency of the Police Service.
The donation is part of the MP’s continued efforts to resource key security and public service institutions within the Effutu Constituency.
The laptops are expected to improve the Police’s capacity to receive, process and store information, thereby strengthening crime prevention and law enforcement activities.
Presenting the items to the Divisional Commander, Mr. Afenyo-Markin reaffirmed his commitment to improving security in the area and pledged to ensure the completion of ongoing expansion works at the headquarters.
He indicated that the contractor would soon return to site to continue the project.
He also disclosed that an accommodation facility being constructed for police personnel is nearing completion, while construction of a new Divisional Police Headquarters at Gyangyanadze has reached an advanced stage.
The Minority Leader reiterated his readiness to continue supporting the Police Service to enhance its operational capacity and service delivery.
Receiving the laptops on behalf of the command, the Divisional Commander, ACP Ibrahim Opoku, expressed gratitude for the sustained support from the MP and assured that the equipment would be put to effective use.
ACP Opoku further assured the public of the Police Service’s neutrality and professionalism, stressing the command’s commitment to maintaining peace, safety and security in the Effutu Municipality.
