Africa Games: 10 Ghanaian Boxers still in contention for medals

After three days of intense competition at the 13th Africa Games, ten Ghanaian boxers are still vying for medals in various weight categories.

In the semifinals, four Ghanaian boxers secured their spots:

  1. Janet Acquah in the Minimum weight (-48Kg) category
  2. Mohammed Aryeetey also in the Minimum weight (-48Kg) category
  3. Theophilus Kpakpo Allotey in the Flyweight (-51Kg) category
  4. Abubakar Kamoko in the Cruiserweight (-86Kg) category

Initially, six Ghanaian boxers advanced to the quarterfinals:

  1. Amadu Mohammed in the Bantamweight (-54Kg) category
  2. Abdul Walib Omar in the Featherweight (-57Kg) category
  3. Joseph Commey in the Lightweight (-60Kg) category
  4. Samuel Takyi in the Light Welterweight (-63.5Kg) category
  5. Henry Malm in the Light Middleweight (-71Kg) category
  6. Daniel Plange in the Heavyweight (-92Kg) category

However, six boxers have been eliminated from the competition:
Ramatu Quaye, Adelaide Djabartey, Sarah Apew, Alfred Kotey, Abdul Baki Adam, and Jonathan Tetteh.

With ten boxers still in contention, hopes are high for Ghana to secure multiple medals.
