The people of the Ahafo enclave in the Brong-Ahafo Region have voted massively in support of the creation of proposed Ahafo Region.
Out of a total of 307,108 eligible voters in the area, 277,663 representing 90.4 per cent turned out to participate in the referendum.
In all, a total of 276,763 representing 99.67 per cent of the total votes cast, voted YES, while 675 representing 0.24 per cent voted NO.
A total of 225 representing 0.08 per cent votes were rejected.
