President and bank roller of King Faisal Football Club, Alhaji Karim Grunsah has pleaded with authorities to allow his team use the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Wednesday in their Premier League game against Legon Cities.

The facility has been closed down for renovation works ahead of the upcoming Independence Day anniversary celebration.

According to Alhaji Grunsah, King Faisal were not given prior notice to the closure of the stadium before it was locked up on Monday 17 February, 2020.

“I spoke with the NSA boss to allow us to play there on Wednesday but he refused”, he told Happy FM.

“I will plead with the authorities to allow us play at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Wednesday against Legon Cities. We were just informed the stadium has been closed on Monday and it has affected our plans.

He stated that the Ghana Football Association has been informed about the latest development and they have been given up to mid-day to choose a venue for the game.

“The GFA has given us until 10am to pick a venue for the game and we have chosen Assin Fosu. We hope the game will be rescheduled to Friday”, he noted.

Legon Cities have already arrived in Kumasi for the game and are waiting for confirmation from Ghana Football Association on the new venue for the game to be honored.
