Allotey Jacobs jabs top NPP members engaged in galamsey; insists Akufo-Addo is happy about it

Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Allotey Jacobs has alleged that top members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) are heavily engaged in illegal mining activities in the country.
According to him, claims by the Akufo-Addo led government that they have successfully clamped down the activities of these illegal miners (galamsey) in the country is completely false stating that President Akufo-Addo’s failure to fight the menace is due to the involvement of his party members.
To him, the government “has failed. There’s nothing going on. You can’t stop the galamsey. It is going on”.
The current administration has never shied away from touting as a huge success, the work of Operation Vanguard in the fight against galamsey in the country.
But Allotey Jacobs opines that the galamsey menace is still thriving under the very watch of President Akufo-Addo, and he proffered some reasons why; “it is your own party leaders who are encouraging these guys to go into the bush and do those businesses”.
“You have failed, totally failed and you don’t have any alternative for these people. These boys are back to business”, he stated.
“Ghanaians seem to have now regretted voting President Mahama out. There’s regret all over the faces of Ghanaians and they’re complaining bitterly”.
