Amissah-Arthur to be buried on July 27

Late former Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur will be buried on Friday, July 27, 2018.
Jabesh Amissah-Arthur, brother and head of the family made this announcement at the one-week memorial service held for the late Vice President.
The memorial service saw in attendance the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia; former Presidents JJ Rawlings John Dramani Mahama; Speaker of Parliament, Mike Oquaye; Members of Parliament, Ministers, Ambassadors, executives and members of the National Democratic Congress as well as other high profile dignitaries.
Speaking on the funeral rites and burial service, Jabesh Amissah-Arthur said there will be no wake keeping. Filing past and paying of last respect will be on July 27 at the foyer of the Accra International Conference Centre from 5am to 9am.
Burial service will then follow from 9am to 12 noon at the main auditorium of the Accra International Conference Centre.
According to him, interment will follow suit at 1pm and that is strictly by special invitation.
Final funeral rites and reception will be held at the forecourt of the State House after the burial.
The former Vice President died on Friday, June 29, 2018 at age 67.
He collapsed at the Air Force Gym in Accra in the morning during a workout and was rushed to the 37 Military Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Born on April 29, 1951, the economist, academic and politician was the sixth Vice-President of Ghana, in office from August 6, 2012 until January 7, 2017, under President John Dramani Mahama.
He previously served as the Governor of the Bank of Ghana from 2009 to 2012.
On the orders of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, all flags have been flying at half-mast since Tuesday in memory of the late Vice President.
Government has opened a book of condolence at the Accra International Conference Centre and at all Ghana High Commissions.
