Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh Dompreh, has stressed the need for outstanding questions in Parliament to be addressed, particularly in the absence of the Minister for Government Communication.
Speaking on the floor of Parliament on Tuesday, December 17, Annoh-Dompreh noted that several critical issues remain unresolved and require the minister’s direct response. He said it was important for the House to ensure accountability, especially on matters already raised by members.
According to him, while there were suggestions for Parliament to proceed with the scheduled business, this should not be done at the expense of addressing pending questions. He specifically mentioned concerns relating to the Bank of Ghana Bill, as well as a statement by the Minister for Foreign Affairs on items reportedly shipped to Jamaica.
The Minority Chief Whip called on the leadership of the House to confirm the business earmarked for the next sitting and to make the necessary arrangements for the Minister for Government Communication to appear before Parliament to respond to the outstanding issues.
Annoh-Dompreh emphasised that providing clear answers to these questions would help Parliament effectively carry out its oversight responsibility and keep the public well informed.
