Anyone from GIHOC who joins Organized Labour strike will be sacked – Kofi Jumah warns

The Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries Limited, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has warned his staff that there will be consequences for anyone who joins the planned demonstration of Organized Labour.

Organized Labour in the past couple of days has served a notice that they will be embarking on a nationwide strike if the government fails to deal with galamsey by October 10, 2024.

However, Kofi Jumah, who is against the intended strike said Organized Labour’s concerns are a national issue and does not concern GIHOC hence his warning to his staff not to participate.

“I hope the GIHOC members are listening. If you like, don’t report to work. Anyone who joins them [Organized Labour’s strike] will be sacked. I am saying this on authority. There are labour laws in the country. Let the issue be a national concern, not GIHOC’s own”, Mr. loudly chimed during an interaction a on a media platform monitored by happyghana.com.

He added that Organized Labour should not waste their time because the staff of GIHOC are wise people and will not follow organized labour’ s directives.

“If someone doesn’t sleep well and comes to say things, then you follow. So, if you like, follow them and see. They should not even waste our time because we are wise people at GIHOC,” he in an interview with Kumasi-based radio station.
