Asante Kotoko coach C.K Akunnor renders apology after crotchety post-match conference

Asante Kotoko coach C.K Akunnor has rendered an apology for his reaction in the aftermath of the J.A Kufour Cup match against AshantiGold on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors gaffer gave a cutting retort to a journalist who questioned his playing style after 1-1 stalemate against their regional rivals at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Asante Kotoko took the lead in the 57th minute through Emmanuel Gyamfi but the Miners leveled through Richard Djodi.

In an interview with Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, Akunnor conceded his mistake after watching the incident on Youtube and rendered an unqualified apology for his action.

“I apologise for my reaction to the question the journalist asked, the question was not the best but after watching the video on youtube, I admit my response was not the best, it came out of frustration so I apologise for it,” the former Ghana captain stated on Oyerepa FM.

The two sides will square off for the second-leg on a yet-to-be-named date
