Ghana Premier League side, Asante Kotoko, is facing a hefty bill as they prepare to play their home matches at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

Reports suggest that the club will pay GHS 10,000 per match to use the stadium, although they will still benefit from keeping all gate proceeds.

Originally, Asante Kotoko had intended to use the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, but ongoing renovations have forced the team to seek an alternative venue.

Due to the National Sports Authority’s closure of the Baba Yara Stadium for these renovations, the Porcupine Warriors have made Len Clay Sports Stadium in Obuasi their temporary home.

Their first home match at the Len Clay Stadium is set for Sunday, September 22, where they will face Young Apostles.

The deteriorating state of the Baba Yara Stadium has not only affected Kotoko but also led to a ban from CAF, barring Ghana from hosting international matches there until the necessary upgrades are completed.
