The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has officially announced the death of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, at the Manhyia Palace.
The formal announcement came during a mandatory sitting of the Asanteman Council on Monday, August 11, attended by all paramount chiefs and representatives of the various clans.
The one-week observance for the late Queen Mother is scheduled for Thursday, August 21, 2025.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the age of 98. She ascended the role of Asantehemaa in 2017, succeeding Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II, who died in 2016.
Her official unveiling took place during the 67th birthday celebration of her brother, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace.
That same occasion also witnessed the commissioning of a renovated ceremonial park named in honour of the late Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II. Situated opposite the Manhyia Museum, the park boasts a well-kept artificial turf and has since served as a venue for numerous royal and traditional events.
