The Executive Director of the Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA), Mensah Thompson, has called for a thorough investigation into the Appointments Committee following allegations of bribery.

Speaking on Happy 98.9FM’s Epa Hoa Daben show with Kwadwo Sefah-Danquah, Thompson stressed that Oliver Barker-Vormawor’s claims should serve as a wake-up call to the committee, noting that this is not the first time such accusations have surfaced.

He recalled similar allegations against the Appointments Committee in 2018 and 2020, which sparked significant controversy. In his view, this history may have contributed to Barker-Vormawor being summoned before the committee.

Thompson further suggested that individuals could be exploiting the committee’s name for personal gain, underscoring the need for a thorough investigation to prevent future occurrences.
