Johnson Asiedu Nketia, General Secretary of National Democratic Party (NDC), has expressed his disappointment towards Dr. Bawumia for refusing to make known to the New Patriotic Party(NPP) about their absence during the 26th National Delegates Conference at Koforidua in Eastern Region on the 7th of July 2018.
Asiedu Nketia who is not comfortable about the complaints made by other political parties accusing him of the absence of the NDC during the National Delegates Conference, has come out to clear the misconception that he did notify the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Bawumia after they received an invitation from NPP.
Asked if Dr. Bawumia’s action could be as a result of negligence or he been forgetful, Asiedu Nketia immediately retorted “even if he was forgetful, when it was time for the program and they were calling out for the NDC, how could he have forgotten to tell them the reason?”.
Speaking to Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ , Asiedu Nketia disclosed that the reason why the NDC was unable to make it to the NPP’s National Delegates Conference was as a result of the one-week celebration of the death of the late vice president Mr. Amissah Arthur.
Mr. Kwesi-Amisah Arthur whose death came as a shock to Ghanaians died at the 37 Military Hospital after he collapsed at the Gym on the 29th of June 2018.
However, Mr. Nketia said Dr. Bawumia could have announced the reasons at the conference to avoid the misconceptions.
