Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey credits Diego Simeone for his remarkable form

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has commended Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone for making him a better player.
Partey joined the Rojiblanco youth side in 2011 before graduating to the first team two year later.
Prior to the 2013 Spanish league season, the 24-year old was shipped on loan to Real Malloca to continue his development – where he netted 5 times in 37 appearances before spending another loan stint at UD Almeria the following season.
The versatile enforcer has become a mainstay in the Madrid-based side since returning from the loan spell with the Andalusian side in 2015 – which he has credited coach Diego Simeone for helping him become the player he is currently.
“I have improved in many things, tactically, how to push, how to position myself and not miss many balls,” Partey said.
“With the help of the whole team and my teammates, I have also improved many things to understand how we play.”
The tireless midfielder has netted three goals in his 30 appearances for the Madrid-based club in the ongoing season.
His sterling performance at the club earned him a contract extension which keeps him at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano until summer 2023.
“He asks me to help the team defensively and attacking, with many passes ahead.” the Black Stars player added.
“Everything I am doing now, thanks to the advice he gives me, is helping me.”
Partey has capped 15 times for Ghana with five goals to his credit.
