The Presidential candidate of National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama is expected to begin a three-day campaign tour of the Central Region from Friday, November 8, 2024 to November 10 ahead of the 2024 general elections.

The tour will begin from Awutu Senya West Constituency on Friday.

Other constituencies he is expected to visit include Awutu Senya East, Gomoa East, Gomoa West, Gomoa Central, Assin Central, Assin North and other constituencies in the region.

The tour is aimed at sharing the policies of the next NDC administration including the 24hour economy policy to provide jobs for the youth, the women’s Bank for traders and many others.

In an interview with Happy Kaseɛbɔ, the NDC Communication Officer for Awutu Senya West Constituency, Cassius Otto Larbie said the constituents, party faithful and sympathisers are ready to welcome John Mahama as he seeks to highlight some of his visions and plans for the Constituency and the nation as a whole.

According to him, they are expecting John Mahama to address road network issues that have been abandoned by the NPP Government for the past eight years in the Constituency. The notable roads are Awutu Breku town road, Awutu Breku to Obrachire and Bawdwease to Ayensukoano road.

“John Mahama increased electricity coverage from 55% to 97% during his time as President and about 50 communities in the Constituency benefited leaving about 15. That 15 communities are still not connected to electricity in this Akufo-Addo government and we are expecting him to touch on that”

“In addition, the market that was started by John Mahama in Senya and Bontrase has been abandoned by this current administration so we are hoping to hear from him on that too”.

He called on Awutu Senya West constituents to come out in their numbers to welcome John Mahama.
