Swansea City manager Steve Cooper praised Andre Ayew for his performance against Middlesbrough after the game.

“Rhian looked a real threat, got his two goals and he’s disappointed he didn’t have three,” said the Swans boss. He’s a really good player, but we are a team that likes to play as a team.

“I thought Aldo was equally a threat down the right-hand side in the first half, and Andre was doing what he does week in and week out”.

Andre Ayew currently holds the record as the Ghanaian with the most goals in Europe across the various leagues in the 2019/20 season.

Meanwhile, Jordan Ayew scored his ninth goal of the campaign to become Ghana’s leading top scorer in the Premier League.

Jordan scored in his side 2-0 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.

The goal took him above former Leeds striker Tony Yeboah as Ghana’s leading scorer in the Premier League with 25 goals over all.

The 28-year-old is in contention for Crystal Palace best player of the season due to his fine form this season.

The top five highest-scoring Ghanaians in the Premier League:

Jordan Ayew (25)
Tony Yeboah (24)
Andre Ayew (21)
Michael Essien (17)
Asamoah Gyan (10)
