Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin delivering his welcome note at the commencement of the Seventh Meeting of the Fourth Session of the Eight Parliament cautioned President-elect John Dramani Mahama to fulfill his promise of resetting Ghana.

He stated that John Mahama cannot afford to disappoint Ghanaians adding that, he trusts Parliament will be a reliable partner and the gatekeeper to ensuring a just delivery of that promise.

Bagbin indicated that, “many opportunities have been unleashed and many myths broken by this victory”

He indicated that Ghana’s democracy is the ultimate winner.

He congratulated President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for his leadership in the organization of the general elections, and the Vice President for conceding defeat early enough to douse the heat generated by the decisive vote of the people of Ghana.

“I also on your behalf applaud the President – elect, H. E. John Dramani Mahama, the Vice President – elect, H. E. Professor Nana Jane Opoku-Agyeman, for scoring an emphatic victory and heavy mandate of Ghanaians at the just ended general elections. I need not remind anyone of the saying “to whom much is given, much is expected.”
