Francis Asenso Boakye, the Member of Parliament for Bantama in the Ashanti Region, has urged members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to channel their criticisms toward President John Mahama and his campaign promises, instead of attacking fellow party members.

Speaking at the commissioning of a newly constructed party office in the Bantama constituency, Asenso Boakye expressed concern over the growing trend of internal attacks within the party. He warned that such infighting could lead to divisions that would weaken the party’s chances in future elections, especially against the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The rate at which party members are attacking each other is alarming. We must not allow internal divisions to give the NDC an upper hand,” he cautioned.

The commissioning of the new party office, according to the MP, was inspired by the strong support the NPP has historically enjoyed in Bantama. He emphasized that a vibrant and united front is essential if the party hopes to return to power in 2028.

In his remarks, Asenso Boakye also paid tribute to past Members of Parliament who contributed significantly to the growth of the party in the constituency. As a gesture of appreciation, he named parts of the new office building after former MPs, including Henry Kwabena Kokofu, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, and the late Daniel Okyem Aboagye.

This is our way of showing appreciation for the love and hard work they have shown to the party over the years,” he said.

The Bantama MP reiterated the need for unity and respect among party members, noting that internal cohesion is vital for achieving the party’s long-term goals.
