Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has emerged as the clear front-runner in the race to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2028 general elections, according to the latest voter preference poll released by Global InfoAnalytics.
The survey, published on the organization’s official Facebook page on Tuesday, July 1, shows Dr. Bawumia commands a dominant 56% of voter support among the potential NPP presidential hopefuls.
His closest contender, former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, trails significantly with 23% of the votes. The former Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, placed third with 9%.
Okaikwei Central MP, Patrick Yaw Boamah, polled 4%, while Former Minister of Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong secured 3%. The remaining 5% of support went to other unnamed individuals.
The polls suggest a formidable support for Dr. Bawumia, as the most preferred candidate to carry the NPP flag in 2028, possibly indicating growing confidence in his leadership within the party and among voters.
