Maverick Reggae and Dancehall recording artiste Samini has advised up and coming artistes on what they must do to succeed in the industry.
He made this revelation on Happy FM‘s entertainment program Showbiz Xtra hosted by Doctar Cann.
Samini, who has recently released a new reggae track ‘My Own’ explained that, “up and coming artistes must learn how to use the computer and other mobile telephony gadgets effectively to succeed because that is the new trend in music currently.
The ‘Linda’ hit maker added that, “I urge you all to get yourselves onto the various social media outlets like Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and so on. They should make sure they take every internet opportunity to educate themselves.”
“My advice to them is that, it is very easy for them to shoot up today because the availability of the internet can help them very well. In our era, we didn’t get it easy like today. So I will urge them to be their own promoters and managers till they get good managers”. He disclosed.
Samini, who has released Six studio albums, with all being highly successful on the commercial market, advised up and coming artiste to bear in mind that every song they release should be on the internet.
“Everything that goes on in the entertainment field must be registered in all corners of social media”, he stressed.
The “Best African Act” at the 2006 MOBO Awards after releasing his second self-titled studio album, cited that, “assuming patapaa had registered his one corner hit track or he were to be a social media freak, he wouldn’t have suffered like the way he did. But of course I know patapaa is earning something from his YouTube, because he is now established as a well-known artiste.” Samini noted.
